B&B’s SMS complements our approach to safety. It is critical to the success of our projects. It mitigates the risk of injury, impacts on the environment and property damage. It’s underpinned by user-friendly project specific safety plans which are successfully integrated into the daily workings by the designated work groups. Ongoing training is also a key element to the SMS success. As a result, we have a reputation that is second to none.
Injury Management & Return to Work (RTW)
B&B works in a high-risk industry. Injury management is an integral part of our company. In the unfortunate circumstance of an employee being injured, early intervention and assistance for the injured employee by the site management team, supplemented by qualified RTW coordinators results in tailored medical treatment, having designated treating doctors and physicians that are familiar suitable duties plans and successful RTW for our most important asset, our employees.
Beavis & Bartels' robust and effective health & safety systems have been recognized by being nominated as finalists two years running in the Master Plumbers Association QLD Industry awards, along with various company and individual employee safety accolades we have received from various principal contractors who engage our services, we as a business believe when it comes to safety “getting it right” is imperative.
Health & Safety Representatives (HSR’s)
Health & Safety Representatives within a company is one of the tools to achieve successful consultation. All employees have a voice on voting a HSR they elect on each project as a result of this employees have appointed and elected representative that is part their individual work group to raise safety matters to, and in turn, there are open channels in relation safety from the shop floor so to speak to all levels of management
Embedded into the company culture the importance of the continuous introduction of dedicated experienced team members. This ethic is still practiced today. With their field and industry based experience the OHS&E Manager and his team of HSR’s are privileged to have other management team members of a high caliber to assist the company to be compliant with statutory legislation and with the individual requirements of our clients.
Beavis & Bartels understands the importance of both investing and nurturing the future of our industry and also upskilling our existing team. We have a team of apprentices and also assist various high schools and TAFE colleges by taking on work experience candidates. We also have an in-house apprentice mentoring and apprentice review program that ensures that by the completion of their apprenticeship our apprentices have a sound knowledge, understanding and can execute all facets of the trade.
Quality Assurance & Environmental
Our Quality assurance management system ensures that our general workmanship and the product we deliver for our clients s is the benchmark for the industry and why we share such a strong positive relationship with local authorities, consultants and independent certifiers across SE QLD and beyond. As a business, we understand the impact our industry has on the environment, hence we recycle our materials where possible, we have been and are heavily involved in various Green Star projects and we pride ourselves on being “Waste Wise”.
Our knowledge of passive fire coupled with our electronic tools for data logging and registering our penetrations ensure that we can progressively and at project completion provide our client with an electronic file containing an electronic register, photographic evidence and associated manufacturer test report for every penetration we have installed.

Beavis and Bartels were fortunate enough to win the plumbers' Union Queensland Workplace Health & Safet Management System and Culture Initiative Award as well as the Department of Housing and Public Works Innovation Award at the 2017 MPAQ Awards Night.
